The Ferrari 296 GTS uses a 2.9 liter V6 biturbo which together with an electric motor produces an output of 830 hp. An eight speed dual clutch transmission transfers this power to the rear wheels. Thanks to the short wheelbase and the mid engine position the car reacts instantly to every steering movement. The metal roof retracts in 14 seconds so the sound of the V6 enters completely unfiltered.

Nice detail: because of the 120 degree cylinder angle engineers were able to place the turbos in the middle of the V for a more compact design and a lower center of gravity.

De Ferrari 296 GTS gebruikt een 2.9 liter V6 biturbo die samen met een elektromotor een vermogen van 830 pk realiseert. Een achttraps transmissie met dubbele koppeling geeft dit vermogen door aan de achterwielen. Dankzij de korte wielbasis en de centrale motorpositie reageert de auto direct op elke beweging van het stuur. Het metalen dak klapt in 14 seconden weg zodat de sound van de V6 volledig ongefilterd binnenkomt.

Leuk detail: door de blokhoek van 120 graden konden de ingenieurs de turbo's in het midden van de V plaatsen voor een compacter ontwerp en een lager zwaartepunt.

La Ferrari 296 GTS utilise un V6 biturbo de 2.9 litres qui associé à un moteur électrique développe une puissance de 830 ch. Une transmission à huit rapports et double embrayage transmet cette puissance aux roues arrière. Grâce à l empattement court et à la position centrale du moteur la voiture réagit instantanément à chaque mouvement du volant. Le toit métallique se rétracte en 14 secondes pour que le son du V6 pénètre de manière totalement non filtrée.

Détail intéressant : grâce à l angle de 120 degrés du bloc les ingénieurs ont pu placer les turbos au centre du V pour une conception plus compacte et un centre de gravité plus bas
