Export buyers welcome

A very well cared-for and enthusiast-owned Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport.

This is a completely standard, unmodified example that has been maintained with particular care throughout my ownership. It has a full service history, has always been parked indoors and has been exclusively fuelled with premium 98-octane petrol during my ownership.

History & Maintenance

* Complete documentation and service records kept in a dedicated folder
* Always garaged during my ownership
* Always fuelled with 98-octane premium petrol during my ownership

The most recent major service was carried out by Volkswagen in February and included approximately SEK 30,000 worth of work:

* Engine service
* DSG transmission service

* Four-wheel alignment

The car has therefore recently received significant preventative maintenance and is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

The GTI Clubsport
If you are looking at this car, you probably already know what makes the Clubsport different from a standard GTI.

The Clubsport is based on Volkswagen’s EA888 Evo 4 architecture, but incorporates a number of hardware and chassis upgrades compared with the regular GTI. Among other things, it features additional cooling capacity, a larger IS38 turbocharger and a more aggressive exhaust character.

The chassis is also more focused, with increased front-end camber, a 15 mm lower ride height and a more aggressively calibrated electronic differential lock. Combined with the Clubsport-specific bodywork and exhaust arrangement, the result is a car that feels considerably more purposeful than a standard GTI while retaining the practicality of a Golf.

The transmission is Volkswagen’s DQ381 seven-speed wet-clutch DSG. In my experience it is an exceptionally capable gearbox, combining very quick shifts with excellent low-speed drivability. The wet-clutch design also makes the car particularly smooth and easy to manoeuvre in everyday traffic.

One of the things I particularly like about the Clubsport is how well it combines performance with everyday usability.

Despite its performance, fuel consumption can be surprisingly reasonable. On motorway driving, I typically see around 6.5 l/100 km.

The Golf’s hatchback practicality remains intact: the boot is large enough for everyday use and the rear seats comfortably accommodate adult passengers. The suspension is firmly tuned without becoming uncomfortable, making the car equally suitable for enthusiastic driving and longer journeys.

In other words, it is a genuine performance car that remains completely usable as a daily driver.

So, why Am I Selling It?

This is probably the obvious question.

The short answer is that there is nothing wrong with the car. Quite the opposite.

I am still very much a car enthusiast, but I have realised that my everyday driving simply does not make much use of what the Clubsport has to offer. Most of my daily commuting consists of relaxed driving at around 70 km/h, using cruise control.

For that reason, I have decided to move to something simpler and more economical for my everyday needs.

There is therefore no urgency to sell the car, and I am not interested in unrealistic offers.

Condition
The car is in very good overall condition and has been treated accordingly throughout my ownership.

One thing worth mentioning is that the summer wheels have PPF applied to them. The PPF on the 19” Adelaide wheels has started to lift in places. I have deliberately left it in place as it still provides protection, leaving the decision to the next owner whether to keep it or remove it.

The wheels themselves are otherwise in good condition.

Final Notes
If you are looking for a well-maintained, completely original Golf GTI Clubsport with full documentation and substantial recent maintenance, this could be the car for you.
