The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, unveiled online in July 2020, represents the ultimate culmination of the AMG GT range and the iconic return of the Black Series badge, unseen since 2013. Continuing this heritage synonymous with extreme performance and rarity, the AMG GT Black Series draws inspiration directly from the GT3 program, combining extreme design with technologies from motorsport.

Distinguished by aggressive and functional aerodynamics, it sports a huge carbon fiber bonnet with air extractors to optimize cooling and downforce, an adjustable front splitter, and a two-stage active rear wing. Its widened wings, massive air intakes and imposing diffuser reinforce its radical appearance and improve stability at high speeds. Compared to a classic AMG GT, it adopts a stiffer chassis, specific suspension settings and lightweight carbon elements to reduce its weight.

Under the hood, it houses a completely reworked 4.0L twin-turbo V8, with a flat crankshaft unique to this model, which produces 730 hp and 800 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful AMG V8 engine at the time of its release. Its optimized aerodynamics, its sharpened chassis, its contained weight of 1540 kg and its formidable 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission allow it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds for a top speed of 202 mph. These assets allowed it to set a record time at the Nürburgring of 6:43.6, confirming its status as a track beast.
