You know a brand has succeeded when it stops naming the product by its genre and instead by its name. Apple is a good example of this. Somewhere around the late 00s, people stopped having phones...they had iPhones. In the automotive world, there are a few players who have succeeded in the same thing and the best example here is perhaps Range Rover. Land Rover's subsidiary, which was created to name the company's more luxurious products, is today much more than just cars. They are status symbols and a given for those who want to travel with class but at the same time with a good undertone of performance.

In recent years, the company has grown from being... just Range Rover to new models such as the Sport and Evoque, but last in line was this one. Velar. A car meant to fill the market between the sibling Evoque, which is the company's smallest, and the Sport, which is the second largest. Velar lifts details and design elements from its big brother but scales it down and makes the package more streamlined. The exterior details are few in this minimalist design, but the whole gives an impression of taste and class. Just as it should be on a Range Rover. The interior, which here is completely in black leather and alcantara, is woven together by decorative stitching in light that nicely breaks up the whole. Here, the environment is dominated by two screens in the center console and one in front of the driver. Sound system from Meridian and above a large panoramic roof that drenches the interior in sunlight.
